About Angell Deer
Angell Deer spent more than two decades in leadership roles in luxury retail and sustainability. He reached the top of that world and found it empty. That is where his other education began.
He trained for over twenty years in Andean Cosmology and Norse Shamanism, and for twenty years stewarded The Sanctuary, a shamanic healing center in the Catskill Mountains of New York. He is the founder and executive director of The New York Bee Sanctuary, a non-profit protecting bees and wild pollinators.
In 2025 he moved with his family to La Ferme du Cerf Bleu, an 18th-century farm in Burgundy, France, where they are rewilding 20 acres. From there he runs Sacred Paths, a shamanic school and healing practice.
He is the author of Becoming the Medicine (Balboa Press / Hay House, 2025) and The Sacred Web, writes the Substack Rituals & Rebellion, and hosts the Sacred Paths podcast, with more than 100 episodes.
